Course Projects

Fashion Photography Portfolio Project

This project involves students conceptualizing, planning, and executing a complete fashion photo shoot. They learn how to work with models, use studio lighting, choose backdrops, and plan wardrobe and makeup. The project teaches how to handle both natural and artificial light, direct a subject for expressions and poses, and maintain the aesthetics required for commercial fashion. Students must select a theme (e.g., casual wear, ethnic, editorial) and deliver a series of 10-15 high-resolution edited images. Post-production is done using Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom, focusing on color correction, retouching, and final image finishing. This project helps students build a professional portfolio that can be shared with modeling agencies or fashion brands.

Travel & Landscape Photo Documentary

In this project, students create a documentary-style photo story focusing on a city, town, or natural landscape. They must plan a trip, scout locations, and shoot with different times of day to understand lighting variations. Students learn framing techniques, depth of field, rule of thirds, and panoramic shooting. Each student submits a visual narrative consisting of 12–18 images, accompanied by captions and short descriptions. This exercise also introduces them to storytelling through imagery. In post-production, the focus is on enhancing natural colors and preparing images for print and digital exhibition. The project helps learners experience real-world challenges like lighting, mobility, and weather conditions—mimicking the life of a professional travel photographer.
