3D animation Films usually rank as the top grossing films in the world. A lot of effort, expertise and time goes into the production of a 3D animation film. For any student pursuing a  Degree or an M.A in Animation, it is pertinent to not only see these movies as they encompass the international standard of animation films but also to note a thing or two in the making of these films.     Women Film Critics Circle–         Best Animated Females
    Brave is Pixar’s first-period film set in the 12th century. It used a cloth simulation Engine known as Fitz and Taz for the hair simulation. Taz was developed for Merida’s curly hair simulations. It also makes use of the pixar’s own RenderMan.

    IGN’s Best of 2012 Awards -Best Animated Movie
    IGN People’s Choice Award for Best Animated Movie
    National Board of Review Awards Best Animated Feature

    Producers Guild of America Award Best Animated Motion Picture
    Wreck it Ralph was made extensively in  Autodesk Maya. It had a lot of old video game references which had a 2d film and incorporated old traditional animation.  It also made use of Disney’s new bidirectional reflectance distribution functions,  which enabled more realistic reflections on surfaces, and the new virtual cinematography Camera Capture system, which enables the going through scenes in real-time.

    ParaNorman is a 3D stop-motion Animated film. It was solely created using hand sculpting and stop motion,  with the infusion of visual effects.
