Top 5 Animation Movies Nominated for Oscars 2018

Our expectations are always high from the Oscar nominations. But it is sure that the Oscars of this year have become grand again. Many people are busy debating the categories like Best Actor, Best Picture, Best Actress, and so on. But Best Animated Feature Film is the category that has been the center of attraction every year.

At the 90th Academy Awards, Coco has won the Oscar as the Best Animated Feature Film. Co directed by Adrian Molina and directed by Lee Unkrich, Coco was up against The Boss Baby, Loving Vincent, The Breadwinner and Ferdinand.

When it comes to animated movies, age doesn’t matter. These movies are as amazing as the ones we are used to watch. So, here’s the list of nominations in best Animation films category.

  1. The Boss Baby

Babies are cute, isn’t? Not all of them! You would admit it if you watch this movie. It is about a pesky little baby who has superpowers and who is strictly a businessman. We can never expect a toddler walking in a business suit having a briefcase at hand. But this cute fella is not a normal baby.

Actually, he is a secret agent. Each frame of the film reflects the efforts and hard work of Director Tom McGrath. Jimmy Kimmel, Alec Baldwin, Lisa Kudrow, and Miles Bakshi voiced for the characters in this movie.

  1. The Breadwinner

Inspired from Deborah Ellis’ bestselling novel, “The Breadwinner” depicts a young girl and her struggles as her father gets arrested.  Then, the girl chooses to dress like a boy in order to support her mother, younger brother, and sister.

This brilliant saga has earned several awards and it goes without saying that the movie is superb. After all, Angelina Jolie has worked in it as an executive director and Nora Twomey as director.

  1. Ferdinand

Ferdinand is directed by Carlos Saldanha and it is based on children’s book by Robert Lawson and Munro Leaf. The film is based on a gentle bull that doesn’t wants to join bullfighting. Eventually, he is forced back to the field. But Ferdinand takes stand to nor just escape, but also help everyone else to escape from the place, where they were trapped. The character of Ferdinand has got the voice of John Cena.

  1. Loving Vincent

It is the most gripping, different and special film in this list. It is the first fully oil painted film in the world. Directed and written by Hugh Welchman and Dorota Kobeila, this feature film is an animated biographical tale which is based on the life of Vincent van Gogh, a painter. The film has 65000 frames and there is oil painting everywhere. It took over 100 painters to create this masterpiece.

  1. Coco – The Oscar Winner

Am I the only one who feels Pixar movies can do the magic with almost anything? This time, they did the same.

Coco is one of the great works done by Pixar which have won it Oscar for being the Best Animation Feature Film. Based on the director Lee Unkrich’s original idea, Coco is a tale of Miguel Rivera, a cute 12-year-old boy. He is moved to the land of the dead by mistake and he starts his journey to not just to come back to the living, but also to reveal the secrets to discover his true passion.
